Free Mammogram Screening Event Takes Place Friday, February 16

Presented by Delaware County Health Department and Jefferson Health System

The Delaware County Health Department is partnering with Jefferson Health System to sponsor a mammogram screening event on Friday, February 16, from 9-3 p.m. at the Wellness Center in Chester, 151 W. 5th Street, Chester, PA 19013.  A certified mammography technologist from Jefferson Health will perform each mammogram and timely screening results will be provided to each patient.

Health insurance is not required, as the primary goal is to reach women who are do not currently have health insurance or who are under-insured to receive this life-saving screening.  Patients with health insurance will be scheduled as well and must bring a prescription from their primary physician/OBGYN for this service.

Interested residents should call the DCHD Wellness Line at (484) 276-2100 or email DelcoWellness@co.delaware.pa.us and leave their contact information, and a representative from the DCHD will call back to complete the registration process.

Please note that appointments are limited for this screening event and registration will be handled on a first come, first serve basis, so please call early to schedule your mammogram.

Requirements:

  • Must be over 40 years old

  • Have not had a mammogram in the last 365 days

  • No prior diagnosis of Breast Cancer

  • Insurance is not required; Patients with insurance will need a script from their PCP or OBG
